Pella Countryside Hotel was established in 1995 by Mr. Theeb Hussein Jawahreh. The idea came to his mind when he worked as a Manager of Pella Restaurant where many tourists all around the world come to have a rest there after finishing their tour in the ruins of Pella and also to have special meals, especially the fish dish. Pella Countryside Hotel nowadays is an attractive destination for tourists who like to enjoy a peaceful family atmosphere and where they can experience the traditional Jordanian life.
Magnificently set in a fold of the hills that rise from the Jordan Valley 78 km north of Amman, Pella; known in Arabic as Tabaqat Fahl; is one of the most ancient sites in Jordan and a favorite of archaeologists being exceptionally rich in antiquities.
The tell itself seems to have been continuously occupied since Neolithic times for some flints from this period have been found there; and some recent finds 2 km north of the tell even date to Paleolithic times, around 100,000 years ago.
Pella has a population of around 1,700 who mainly depend on agriculture to make their own living.
